Going...Going....

In 3 weeks I will be on a 19 hour plane ride headed toward Southeast Asia. The anticipation is killing me! I have sold most of my "stuff" and am now realizing how little I actually need. It's kind of freeing to let go of everything and take a leap. A big piece of my heart will be left in Hawaii but I know this journey is something I need to do.

I've learned so much about myself here. It's amazing what you can accomplish being 3,000 miles away from everything you know. I've grown up a lot in the last three years.

"The Plan"

I will be meeting Nancy in Thailand on July 3rd. That is where our plan ends :) I know I'd like to get to Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and India but the path is ever changing. I think once we are there together we can figure things out.

"Things I really want to do"

  • See Angkor Wat in Cambodia (Tomb Raider was filmed in the old abandoned temples)
  • Climb Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia (People believe the peak is where their souls go after they die. They believe they eat the moss that grows there for nourishment. It's an extremely spiritual place for the town people)
  • Snorkel in Indonesia
  • Stay in an Ashram in Rishikesh India and deepen my yoga practice with yogis.
  • Ride an elephant
  • See the orangutan forest in Indonesia (My brother cringes at the thought of this one)
  • Ride an inner tube down the river in Laos
  • Watch the night ceremonies on the banks of the Ganges River
  • Find the tree where Siddhartha became enlightened (the original Buddha)
  • Visit a medicine man in Indonesia
  • Enjoy a $7 massage on the beach
  • Make it through the Full Moon party in Thailand

The question of the day....Where will I end up when this trip is over?

I'm leaving it up to some higher force to push me to where I belong...the universe is wise and I'm sure it has a plan for me. :)
